Head Lad Cottage is our captivating ground floor cottage here in beautiful North Yorkshire.
Unwind in your open plan kitchen and living area combining country charm with a dash of drama. Two front windows overlook the pretty parkland of Patrick Brompton Hall. Once the evening light fades, snuggle up on the large leather sofa in front of the 43 inch Smart TV. Out side the cottage has its own, private, covered seating area overlooking a paddock for you to enjoy the sun in the day and then to watch the sun go down at night.
This cottage comes with a super king sized bed and smart tv in the bedroom. Along with open shower and LED mirror with integrated Bluetooth speakers.
This special Yorkshire retreat cottage for couples is named after the lad in charge of the whole stable block. The Head Lad was responsible for the welfare of the estate horses night and day so needed to live close by.
Fresh and inviting
Traditional pale oak floors and tongue and groove panelling are teamed with contemporary colours and textiles. It’s fresh and inviting in the summer, warm and cosy in winter.

Your modern en-suite includes a power shower to freshen up after a day exploring the Yorkshire countryside. The hot water supply is unlimited, thanks to our wood chip boiler.
Ground floor accessibility
Head Lad Cottage at Dalesend Cottages has its own parking next to the front door. There are 2 steps to get inside. Once inside the cottage, there are no further steps.
On your doorstep
The Yorkshire Dales is a glorious place to escape the city and relax. You can stroll down the drive and wander the 25 acres of private ancient parkland belonging to Patrick Brompton Hall. Want more of a day hike? Fantastic routes further up the dale are just a short drive away.
If you like birdwatching, follow the beck around our grounds to spot egrets and kingfishers. Or just watch the sunset from your own, private, covered seating area in the summer, overlooking a beautiful paddock.
