Yoga, Yoga Nidra and Gong Baths

Your wellness experience at Dalesend Cottages.

Dalesend Cottages have launched Dalesend Escapes from  2018.  Guests can choose stays with dates that have weekend retreat activities available.

Our 2018 schedules allow you to book a cottage (subject to availability) and  experience Kundalini Yoga, Yoga Nidra, a gong bath, or a walking, painting or creative writing as add-on extras. The first Kundalini, Nidra and Gong weekend will be on June 22-25th 2018 and will include various options such as a vegetarian dinner in our private house dining room, (nb: if enough demand – cost extra to yoga sessions and you would be advised if interested), a yoga lesson followed by a brunch – included in price.

The theme for Kundalini and Nidra in June 22-24th 2018 (depart Sunday eve or Monday 10am) will celebrate the Summer Solstice as our soul’s intention.

The classes must be booked. Cottage accommodation (subject to availability) for these two weekends will be prioritised for cottage guests who wish to participate in the full weekend programme of yoga/nidra/gong  activities. Full package = £72 in addition to your cottage accommodation cost.

Yoga studio:  your dedicated yoga studio is in Patrick Brompton Hall.

What is Yoga Nidra?

Yoga Nidra is yoga for the mind. There are no physical movements. You are guided into a meditative state by the teacher and your brain is allowed to rest from today’s high speed/high tech life.

What is Kundalini Yoga?

Kundalini Yoga, as taught by Yogi Bhajan, is the practise of movement and meditations to cleanse, purify mind and and body and enable an awakening of new energy and consciousness. It is a deep body and mind-centred practise. You do not break into a sweat like Ashtanga or Vinyassa flow. The movements – called Kriyas – are in sets, and each has an intention, or intended purpose, that encourages or enables change in your life. We often work on the heart, navel and arms and shoulders, along with the legs, to strengthen the nervous system, reset the vagus nerve and psoas muscle as their harmony and balance are the key to good health.

Gong Baths

The gong bath massages every cell in your body and resets the parasympathetic nervous system. The following list outlines benefits you may feel after a gong bath.

·Relieves neck pain, headaches, menstrual cramps, muscle pain, and improves joint flexibility and range of motion
·Creates deep relaxation and clears the mind
·Immediate reduction of stress and anxiety
·Stimulates the glandular system and improves function
·Stimulates circulation
·Organizes emotional energy
·Aids in breaking addictive behavior
·Regenerates neurons and their interconnections
·Regenerates the nervous system
·Clears the aura
·Opens and aligns the chakras
·Clears the sub conscious mind from negative thought patterns
