Dalesend Cottages have launched Dalesend Escapes which includes yoga retreats in Yorkshire.  Weekend activities will be themed around yoga, art, creative writing workshops, occasional retreats led by authors, walking, health, diet fitness and wellness.

Skill level – Any – adjustments will be given. No experience necessary of Kundalini  Yoga and Yoga Nidra.

Kundalini Yoga – Yoga Nidra, gong bath – weather permitting, yoga may be outside. Saturday evening dining will be outside if the weather allows.  Brunches may be ‘picnic-style’ if the weather is fabulous.

We welcome our guest teacher of Kundalini yoga, Yoga Nidra and Gong,  Ashley Jones – from Triyoga London.

Ashley is a compassionate and intuitive teacher with over 10 yrs. experience to share. Her sessions are dynamic, friendly, fun and delivered with a down to earth approach.  Ashley is also a life coach and thrives on creating the space for expansion and growth both on and off the mat. She believes there is a way through every perceived obstacle or block and encourages her students to tap into their full potential whilst having a good time doing it. www.loveisinyou.com

Weekend accommodation

Book a cottage or a room in Patrick Brompton Hall, a grade II* listed HHA exquisite  Queen Anne 1703 small stately home with extensive private grounds and a meditation garden.  Patrick Brompton Hall has a private yoga studio and indoor swimming pool. Meals will be taken in the garden or in our private dining room. Retreat guests have weekend use of our Swedish hot tub, and the opportunity to enjoy the private gardens and grounds including a historic walled meditation garden.

Refreshments and vegetarian catering will be provided.

You can choose to stay 2 or 3 nights. – however the price is the same.

Friday 22nd June 2018

Arrive at your accommodation with us from 4pm. (choice of self-catering cottage or room in main house).

Arrival and Welcome tea/refreshments.

Nidra and Gong evening session – 6.30-730pm

Light supper for resident retreat guests in the private dining room.

Saturday 23 June 2018

Kundalini Kriya yoga and gong – followed by brunch for all doing the class. 11am – 1230pm. Brunch afterwards

Saturday Afternoon

Choose to be free to swim, go on a guided walk/hike around the estate with our family Great Danes roaring around – quite an experience, or chill in our Swedish hot tub, enjoy our meditation garden, sunbathe if it is nice weather, or visit a local attraction (own transport required).

Saturday evening.

Yoga Nidra

Vegetarian BBQ (meat can be made available) in our private garden followed by fabulous evening bonfire session.  Sit around a huge fire in the park, share stories, and friendship and celebrate the summer Solstice. Soft drinks and Yogi Tea.

Alcohol welcome – please bring your own.

Sunday 24th June 2018

Kundalini and gong yoga – 11am-1230pm with a brunch afterwards

After this you are free to enjoy the facilities (another swim, walk, the meditation garden and grounds, hot tub.)

Yoga Nidra at 3pm for those leaving on Sunday and an evening Yoga Nidra and gong for those staying until Monday 10am.  A light supper for residents staying a third night.

Non-resident day rate £60 – day ends after Nidra and Yogi tea.

The retreat begins Friday 22 June from 4pm and ends Monday 25th June at 10am. You may depart on Sunday afternoon/evening but there is no ‘2-night price’.

The following accommodation is available.

All prices are inclusive of yoga and food/coffee tea water but no alcohol. (welcome to bring your own!) Travel to Patrick Brompton Hall is not included.

4 self-catering cottages – two with super king double bed and one with double bed. Private kitchen areas, sofas, TV, Internet, en-suite bath/shower. Towels provided.

We are sorry we are unable to provide ‘allergy free’ accommodation in the private house. The house has stairs and no lift. Superfast broadband. Sitting room with TV.

To reserve your place(s)  – 50% deposit (non refundable).

Balance is due 42 days before 22 June (0n 0r before 11May 1018)

Bookings made after 11 May require full balance payment at time of booking.

Amendments to bookings for this weekend are at the discretion of the owners of Dalesend Cottages.  All guests booking cottages must agree to the Dalesend Cottage T&C as stated on our website.

The Dalesend Estate facilities.

Private indoor heated swimming pool, hot tub, tennis court (subject to suitable playing conditions) croquet lawn, and walled meditation garden. We grow organic vegetables and fruit and will be providing meals using our home produce during the weekend, subject to seasonal availability of the vegetable patch.

Arrivals/Transfers.

Your journey to Patrick Brompton Hall is your own responsibility but do ask us for any advice.

Patrick Brompton Hall is 2hrs 20 minutes by train from Kings Cross to Northallerton on the East Coast Main line and is a direct service operated by Virgin East Coast or The Grand Central (cheaper trains).

Taxi transfers are available at the station – we are 15-20 minutes by taxi or car. Around £25 for 2 people. Transfers can be arranged by Dalesend Cottages.

Kundalini Yoga, the yoga of awareness that activates your inner energy and expands your soul and consciousness, is suitable for beginners. Modifications will be given to anyone new to yoga. Please arrive ready, and wear loose clothing.  Please bring a bottle of water. Mats, blocks and blankets will be provided. .

What is Yoga Nidra?

Yoga Nidra is yoga for the mind. There are no physical movements. The teacher guides you into a meditative state and your brain is allowed to rest from today’s high speed/high tech life.

What is Kundalini Yoga?

Kundalini Yoga, as taught by Yogi Bhajan, is the practise of movement and meditations to cleanse purify mind and body and enable an awakening of new energy and consciousness. It is a deep body and mind-centred practise. You do not break into a sweat like Ashtanga or Vinyassa flow. The movements – called Kriya – are in sets, and each has an intention, or intended purpose, that encourages or enables change in your life. We often work on the heart, navel and arms and shoulders, along with the legs to strengthen the nervous system, reset the vagus nerve and psoas muscle as their harmony and balance is the key to good health.

Gong Baths
