Shop Yorkshire Food Like a Local

We love the following food shops and hope you will too.

Campbells of Leyburn – small but perfectly stocked supermarket offering superior wines, food, fruit and veg, cheese etc – almost everything, for foodies, in one shop.

Lewis and Cooper – Northallerton high street

Like Campbells, this food store, dubbed the Harrods Food Hall of the North, has very good wine selections, cheese and deli counter and many speciality foods.

Berry’s Farm shop and Cafe – Swinithwaite, Leyburn.

Lovely selection of Yorkshire source food. Tea room a bonus!

Cockburns Butchers – Bedale High Street.

Good selection of locally sourced meat and also serves home baked pies etc. So popular people queue.

Bettys  Bakery – Northallerton

Marvellous baked breads and cakes and biscuits – think delicious indulgent calories – then buy.

Bedale Community Bakery

Tucked away near the railway line in Bedale – this bakery has starred on TV as ‘Bread Actually’ on the BBC – and is a community run bakery with delicious daily offerings of fresh baked produce. Based at tourist attraction Big Sheep and Little Cow, it closes at 3.30pm Tuesday to Friday and 2pm Saturdays, so don’t leave it too late to shop here. (closed all day Mondays).

Cake Dreams – Bedale
